Avenues for selling my music

Being Indie has advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are that you have more freedom and creative control in your projects. Especially if you do it all yourself. You have no pressure, and can basically get up from bed and record and just feel relaxed. Basically all of your success is dependant upon YOU. The disadvantages are that you can record an album and only get 5 sales...and basically not make any money. Most Indie artists dont have that Major Label backing which includes the Marketing, promotion, airplay, and distribution of their record, so after your product is recorded, you must do all of this your self or build a team and create a small label and try to do this...This is the hard part about being indie. I mean, you want to sell some records and make some money, its all about marketing and creating that fan base...but thats another blog

Here are some of the sites that i found to be great for indie artists if they want to sell their music online and make some money:

1. CD BABY - Best online site in my opinion to sell your CD. Ive made money from them in the past on my last record. But like i said its all about marketing, you have to have people wanting to buy the record.

2. Tunecore - I just found out about these guys. This is for distrubition via digital to Itunes and other digital sites. I havent used them yet

3. Trackspin - also a digital means of selling your music. Not sure about them but give it a try i guess...

4. Emubands - just found out about these guys too. Similar to CDbaby

of course there are many many others, but these are the main sites that i will be using to sell my music
