Greatness

Here I am in California right now writing this blog. I'm in cali to getaway from the stress of trying to get signed and all that for real. I was trying to setup a meeting with Capitol Records but I realized I don't have my material with me, who cares I'm on VACATION! Man these californians got me talking like "DUDE" and "AWESOME" It's amazing how everyone here is so laid back and nice. I'm still a new yorker though na mean, but anyways Im out here chilling and I noticed how everyone and everything is about money and status. I'm here for the week with my cousin Rich and he took me to a few spots in Orange County and LA. I saw some geeky, ugly dudes at these clubs pretty much doing whatever they wanted getting Platinum Status, women all over them...(In so many words)I turned to my cousin Rich and said "What's up with that?" He said, "They got money. That's what it's all about" I thought to myself and thought Na it can't just be about only money...and then I thought to myself, "Here in America...what do people strive for?" Why does someone choose to be a doctor, a lawyer, a rapper, an actor? Why do parents get happy when their daughter dates a doctor or lawyer...because it's all about the money, and to me that is depressing but it's a reality. I've noticed it here in California the most then any other state that I have been to. The simple fact of the matter is that everyone is striving for Greatness and to them money is what makes one great.

However, I beg to differ. What makes a person great is their character. What makes a person great is their relationship with GOD, and their greatness will shine through their actions. Money, success, and wealth are just added benefits that of course everone strives for. Y'all may be thinking, "isn't that why you are trying to do this music thing, to be rich and famous..." Of course I want to be successful doing music as a career, but I'm not doing it for the money. I'm doing it for the love of music. I'm doing this because this is a passion that the LORD has put into my heart the greatest gift of all, to express one's self artistically. That's why I do it. To be a master of craft.

I may not be the richest guy in the world with bling and cars and cribs and 26 inch rims and flash, but I have character, and I would rather have a million dollar character than all of that
