This is the conclusion that I came to regarding this music thing. "Just Do IT Youself" Let me tell you my story: About 2 years ago (and some change) I finished my album LoVe Chronicles. I put mad money into studio time, mixing, mastering, etc. Roughly around 6,000 dollars. Now 6,000 dollars to a struggling artist is like 60,000 ya dig... and I love the way it came out and appreciate the hard work that everyone put into the project, but I wisened up a little. Instead of spending 6 G's everytime i need to cut an album or pay 'XX' an hour for studio time, Why don't I just buy my own equipment, put together my own team, and build my own studio....HMMMM....and thats what I did. Saved my self a whole lot of money doing it this way. I said to myself "Im trying to get a deal, I need to be making music daily and perfect my tracks and my vocals until I'm satisfied. I used to go in the booth and rush my tracks cause I only had X amount of dollars...so when the money ran out, that was it. So again I say to you GET YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT AND JUST DO IT YOURSELF! Buy an engineering book and figure it out
My Equipment (J-RE and DJ Statle): Yamaha Motif Classic, (soon to be getting the Roland Fantom X6 to compliment my Motif), NuMark Turntables, Torque, Cubase Studio 4, Presonus Firebox, Bluebird Mic <----I love this thing, AKGC3000b mic, Wavelab, Reason 3.0, Ableton, KRK Rockit 5's, Zenith Monitors, Behringer Mixer, Emachine PC, Yamaha AW16G, Reflexion Filter....NOW this ain't no million dollar studio, but it gets the job done for now.
